Company has a client that is seeking a UX/UI Software Engineer in Nottingham, MD.

Summary:
In this role, the UX/UI Software Engineer will work in an environment using agile methodology, Lean UX best practices, human-centered design, and human interaction design best practices. At the same time, you will speak the language of business stakeholders, IT developers, and Marketing colleagues to effectively articulate your ideas and findings. You must possess strong research skills, be data-obsessed, development-focused, and have the ability to help define and solve complex user interface problems. The UX/UI Software Engineer will conduct UX research and perform UI design and development. You will also validate assumptions, participate in user testing, and design/develop digital experiences, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Online Lending development teams with mockups, UX research, user experience design, UI development, and usability testing
  • Makes strategic and tactical UX/UI component and framework decisions related to design and usability as well as features and functions
  • Creates low and high-fidelity wireframes that represent a user’s journey as they interact with the company website and/or mobile applications; Engineers wireframes into UI code that can be integrated with the Online Lending API Technology stack
  • Conducts and runs design studios with a cross-functional team and implements agile methodology and Lean UX best practices
  • Joins the business teams in defining problem statements with stakeholders, defines assumptions, and validates assumptions with data; Develops hypothesis intended to drive outcomes; Designs solutions to test against the market and defines tests; With the ability to collect feedback, iterates and runs a continuous, always-on process until business outcomes are met
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Centered Design, Interaction Design, or equivalent professional experience
  • Thorough knowledge of UX/UI best practices with three or more (3+) years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge and experience with standard UI development language React, as well as knowledge on how the UI interfaces with the API business logic layer
  • Must be able to translate complex concepts and interactions into visually coherent and functional wireframes that can be used to test against the market
  • Problem-solving skills, an investigative mentality, and a proactive nature committed to delivering solutions
  • Passion for human-centered design and a drive to make interactive technology better for real people
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, understanding constraints, and use agile methodology and UX best practices
  • Qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Software skills with a strong proficiency/expertise in React (required), NodeJS (required), and MongoDB (desired/preferred)
  • Knowledge in JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, foundation, React.js, Material UI
  • Knowledge and experience with Prototyping software such as Uxpin, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Balsamiq, Sketch, etc.
  • Experience with development tools, such as JIRA, GIT, Slack, Confluence
  • Experience with Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD)
  • Experience with heat maps or session-based recording tools (Fullstory, Hotjar, Mouseflow, etc.)
  • Experience with A/B testing tools (Optimizely, Google Optimize, etc.)
