Company has a client that is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Alexandria, VA.

Duties Include:

  • Software Engineering Manager will work with Chief Architect to help implement the strategy and technological roadmap pertaining to application development and digital experience
  • Lead design sessions to solution and implement new features and functionalities within complex JavaScript applications (primarily Angular) utilizing reactive programming principles (ngRX)
  • Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity
  • Manage fully remote engineers and provide mentorship to help them grow in their technical responsibilities
  • As a Software Engineering Manager, you will champion and drive innovation to the team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope
  • Work cross-departmentally to generate consensus and drive solutions across development, product managers, business users and stakeholders
  • Support in the definition and improvement of standards for coding, best practices, testing, accessibility, debugging, and implementation of modern JavaScript-based web applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience and training
  • 4-6 years of experience as a developer for web applications in a senior or lead capacity, with at least 2 years of being focused on front-end web development
  • Prior experience with managing developers or serving in a team lead capacity, and the ability to successfully manage fully remote teams
  • Strong understanding of the concepts behind modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Vue, React) and the ability to both architect and execute project work as needed
  • Strong understanding of both RxJS and Reactive state management
  • Understanding and experience with various web rendering techniques (SSR, CSR, hydration, transfer state, etc.)
  • Understanding of Progressive Web Applications and WCAG accessibility compliance
