Company has a client in Brooklyn, NY that is seeking a Full Stack Developer – Typescript/PHP.

Summary:
The Seller Support Squad aims to provide human and effortless support where and when our sellers need it. As a Full Stack Developer on our team, this person will play a major role in improving the experience for millions of sellers. Our multi-functional squad is composed of five engineers, one data scientist, one product manager, one designer, and one researcher. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to collaborate and lead in building trustworthy software and outstanding user experiences.

This company is built on Google Cloud Platform, and our Web stack runs on PHP and MySQL. On the front end, we’ve developed and migrated to our own design system, and mostly build interfaces using Neu/Typescript. We were one of the earliest and are one of the largest practitioners of continuous deployment in the online marketplace industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a human and effortless support experience for our Sellers
  • Identify recurrent issues that can be resolved with a better experience
  • Equip agents with a best-in-class platform to provide personalized support
  • Take the lead on advising and implementing solutions to loosely scoped problems
  • Deliver projects independently OR by leading the path for your teammates to do so
  • Mentor and coach other engineers on your team and across the company to help them succeed
  • Participate in the blameless culture at Etsy that allows us to learn from our mistakes
  • Usually work across multiple parts of a system, whether it’s front-end and back-end, or online and offline
  • 5+ years of practical software development experience
  • Worked in PHP and MySQL
  • Experience with Cloud Infranstructure (GCP services preferred but not required)
  • Can efficiently use data to drive decision-making and solve problems
  • Are comfortable working within a large codebase and strive to create simplicity from complex systems
  • Able to write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and scalability
  • Are a strong communicator and are willing to take on a mentoring role with teammates and peers
  • Are comfortable working on a cross-functional product team with Product Managers, Designers, Researchers, and Data Analysts to maximize the impact of our work
  • Experience in Zendesk is not required, but a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
