Company has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking an App Developer III.

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the App Developer will conduct work flow study and analysis of business practices
  • Analyze and document existing processes as they relate to information technology solutions

Perform application lifecycle activities, including:

  • Code, monitor, maintain, test, and debug software applications
  • Follow established change management processes
  • Facilitate code reviews and enforce code standards
  • Develop and execute test plan development
  • Research and evaluate new technology, products, specialized hardware and tools to optimize development and functionality of applications
  • Make recommendations to management and customers
  • Assist in ensuring team members complete tasks as assigned, taking corrective action to stay on schedule

Provide support:

  • The App Developer will support complex operational activities and recoveries
  • Coordinate with software vendors and external service providers
  • Troubleshoot escalated software bugs and provide fixes
  • Provide off hours support, as needed

Leadership:

  • The App Developer will provide, cultivate and foster excellent customer service
  • Enforce adherence to departmental standards
  • Instruct, train, and guide less experienced staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s in a technical discipline; Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, plus 3 years relevant technology experience or equivalent combination of education & experience (preferred)
  • 7 years of relevant technology experience
  • Prior experience in a higher education technology environment
  • Advanced technical knowledge of application systems and analysis, as well as industry best practices
  • Ability to research and implement new technologies in specialty or related areas
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Champion continual improvement of internal processes and procedures
  • Ability to consult with clients and higher level technicians and analysts to resolve technical problems and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ability to interact with customers to discuss and recommend alternative technical solutions
  • Ability to work extra hours and recognize the need to do so
  • Ability to adjust scheduled time
  • Ability to adjust to change and demands on time
  • Position specific experience (e.g. database, PeopleSoft, .NET, UNIX, current application development tools and languages, etc.)
