Company has a client that is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) in Maitland, FL.
Summary:
The client’s Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all database systems are maintained, monitored, and backed up in accordance with Information Technology best practices. This role maintains the operation of these systems in a 24×7 work environment. The Database Administrator acts as a point of contact for the services, equipment, and software changes and/or installations under their assigned area of responsibility. The Database Administrator evaluates, documents, monitors, configures, and tunes existing database systems.
Responsibilities:
- Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that all database systems are maintained, monitored, and backed up in accordance with Information Technology best practices
- Maintains the operation of these systems in a 24×7 work environment
- Identify and assesses current and future need of database software purchases; Ensure company database is compliant, secured and optimized for full performance
- Ensures the successful backup of database and related log files; Manage database utilities and monitor relationships between users and applications
- Monitors, analyzes, and resolves issues related to information flow and data architecture standards
- Writes code for update queries, update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database, and maintain a data correction log
- Creates and maintains data correction logs that identify the date the correction that was performed, tables and fields effected, submission effected, error code effected, and other pertinent metadata
- Expands and updates the data dictionary for the database and any related applications
- Develops and implements standards, data modeling and space usage requirements
- Solves complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred
- Minimum of six years of experience in day-to-day database technical support
- Experience managing database utilities and monitoring relationships between users and applications
- Knowledgeable in network hardware and software
- Working knowledge of enterprise SAN storage
- Proficient in understanding of relational databases concepts and query languages to design summary and aggregate tables which support analysis
- Proficient in writing code for update queries, update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database, and maintain a data correction log
- Experienced in creating and maintaining data correction logs that identify the date the correction that was performed, tables and fields effected, submission effected, error code effected, and other pertinent metadata
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus
Tech Stack (must have):
- MSSQL (5-7 years of experience)
- 2017 and 2019 standard
- MS Management Studio
- Indexing; IndexVues
- Query Optimization
- T-SQL
- Stored procedures
- Manage a high volume of data
- Willing to take on legacy work
