Company has a client in Columbus, OH that is seeking a Full-Stack Developer. The compensation is dependent on experience. This is a remote position, but the candidate must be close in proximity to the Columbus, OH area as on-site visits are occasionally required. This is a 6-month contract with ability to extend.

Summary:
The overall purpose of the position is to deliver robust and user-friendly technical applications and data management tools that support business processes for the organization. It is expected that the individual in this position will develop strong analytical and technical knowledge in informatics and develop a strong comprehension for clinical research perspectives in information technology. The effectiveness of these applications will be measured by lowered cost of doing business for the Biopathology Center and their sponsors. Effective informatics support will aid in increased cure rates, and reduced therapy side effects.

General Responsibilities:

  • As part of initial training, understand department procedures including development standards, operating procedures, source control, documentation, requirements gathering, our department workflow from planning to delivery, as well as an understanding of biobanking
  • Participate in enhancing, supporting, and maintaining a variety of custom applications, workflows, and reports
  • Participate in project planning
  • Duties are performed as part of a team
  • Assignments need to be completed on time and according to requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • 4-7 years solid programming experience
  • Exposure to a variety of programming languages and paradigms
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
  • Well versed in issue management
  • Exposure to source version control tools
  • Data Analysis skills
  • Solid experience with application programming models
  • Demonstrated expertise with relational database technology, including logical/physical schema design, effective querying patterns/techniques, and stored procedure development
  • Ability to analyze business needs and prepare appropriate resolutions
  • Learn; Share knowledge; Enable the team’s capabilities to grow
  • Ability to communicate well and effectively seek feedback is a must

Preferred Skills:

  • One or more general-purpose programming languages such as: C#, VB, Java, etc.
  • Server-side application programming frameworks: ASP.Net, Spring Boot, Vaadin, Node.js
  • Client-side frameworks: HTML/CSS, HTML5, JavaScript
  • Issue management tools: GitHub, Jira
  • Version control: Git, TFS, SVN
  • Data Modeling: relational modeling, dimensional modeling
  • Report Writing: Microsoft Report Manager, ReportServer
  • Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB
  • Comfortable working with containerization technologies, such as Docker
  • Background with XML, JSON, AJAX, REST and related web and interoperability standards

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
