Company has a client that is seeking a Principal Solution Architect in Wellesley Hills, MA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design: Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and product owners to understand business needs and translate them into a technical solution design; Work with development teams to help them understand and implement the design
  • Software Architecture: Leverage knowledge of software design patterns, coding standards, and development practices to create a software architecture that is scalable, reliable, and efficient
  • Requirements Analysis: Understand the technical requirements for software solutions and recommend appropriate technologies to meet those requirements; Works with developers to ensure that the technical requirements are understood and met
  • Project Plan Consulting: Work with project managers to help create project plans, manage project timelines, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Provide technical guidance: Provide technical guidance to developers and other team members; Help to resolve technical issues, provide guidance on software development practices, and ensure that development is consistent with the software architecture
  • Review code and design: Review code and design to ensure that it meets the requirements of the business and is consistent with the software architecture; Provide feedback to developers on how to improve code and design to ensure that it is maintainable and scalable
  • Research new technologies: Research new technologies and make recommendations to the team; Keep up to date with the latest trends in software development and provide guidance on how to adopt new technologies
  • Ensure software quality: Ensuring the quality of software solutions by working with developers to define quality metrics and ensure that they are met; Work with quality assurance testing to ensure that software solutions meet the requirements of the business

Main 3-5 technologies this resource should be proficient in:

  • Microsoft development stack (C#.NET)
  • AWS Cloud (Dynamo DB, Event driven serverless computing Lambda, S3 Storage bucket and policies, and SNS/SQS)
  • Java & Python
  • T-SQL and MS SQL Server
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks using JavaScript and React

Top 5 critical skills or must haves skills a candidate should have on their resume in order to be considered:

  • Experience with integrating on-perm database services with Cloud or Hybrid datacenter model
  • IT experience and/or understanding the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with strong Agile/SCRUM experience
  • An effective communicator at all levels, in both structured and non-hierarchical, informal structures
  • Senior software development experience
  • Previous solutions architecture experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
