Company has a client that is seeking a Front-End Web Developer – Junior in Chicago, IL.

Summary:
This job will involve primarily working with the Mendix Enterprise Application cloud system with some experience with providing rapid customer solutions for various business needs. You will work with our business team to find out what their needs are. In this role, you will be assisting with analysis of the business teams requirements and advise them accordingly. Together with your project team, you will be responsible for the development, and implementation of the system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of high-quality applications in small teams with Front End development
  • Front-End Web Developer will deduce and document use cases from customer requirements
  • Visual Modeling: Develop application workflows, create integration interfaces via Web Services, Create Graphical User Interface Layouts
  • Integration interfaces with custom JavaScript
  • Documentation of either or, user manuals, (non-)functional application requirements, business processes, workflows, project plans and planning, systems architecture, etc.
  • Responsible for building ‘client-side’ web application development
  • As a Front-End Web Developer, you will translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications
  • Use markup languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create user-friendly cross-browser/cross-platform web applications
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed
  • Design and implement responsive features
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability and meet product stakeholder requirements
  • Create quality mockups and prototypes as needed; Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
  • Front-End Web Developer will ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field
  • 2 to 3 years of work experience in IT development and delivery
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Work experience as a Front-End Developer
  • Experience with both business and IT units
  • Experience with source code management (Git is a plus)
  • Experience in customer-facing environments, with daily customer interaction
  • Hands on experience with JavaScript, CSS and jQuery or other JS frameworks
  • Knowledge of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
  • Knowledge of layout aesthetics
  • Familiarity with web client frameworks (React or Angular)
  • Familiarity with cross-browser, cross-platform testing and debugging
  • Familiarity with Agile practices
  • Expertise with web client languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Quick to learn and an ability to work independently with a little mentoring and guidance in a fast-paced environment
  • Have sense of ownership and accountability with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes that balance technical and business goals
  • Good problem-solving skills and an aptitude for helping other members of the team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn new technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and flexible
  • Ability to replicate UI/UX design in their development
  • Mendix Experience is a nice to have
  • Object oriented design skills and familiarity with JavaScript a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
