Full Stack Software Engineer III – Remote

Company has a client in Jacksonville, FL that is seeking a remote Full Stack Software Engineer III to be part of a collaborative team responsible for the detailed design, documentation, development, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed applications. The Full Stack Software Engineer will join our Platform Consolidation team and we anticipate that this role will be roughly 70% backend and 30% frontend development focused. This person will be working on a team dedicated to platform consolidation of two major homegrown systems as we migrate applications and suites to the cloud, and working with individuals who are highly motivated and passionate about technology.
Responsibilities:
- Works with RESTful APIs and web services
- Designs using micro-service architecture
- Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles
- Implements code-based unit tests
- Leverages Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, or similar tools for delivery
- Writes technical documentation
- Gathers technical requirements
- Writes code to maintain large-scale complex systems
- Follows Agile software development methodologies
- Designs efficient and performant solutions
- Manages maintainable levels of technical debt
- Working alongside 6 software engineers dedicated to the platform consolidation for 2 major homegrown systems
- Participating in daily stand ups at 9am ET
- Implementing a backlog of items to fulfill a focused roadmap
- Working on a team following Agile Scrum principles
- Using such technologies as Java, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Oracle, & MySQL
- Applying micro-service architectures
- Hosting & consuming RESTful APIs
- Collaborating on programming or development standards
- Maintaining technical debt and applying security principles
- Reviewing the code of others while receiving feedback to ensure code quality
- Performing unit testing and complex debugging to ensure quality
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- 4+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives

- Understands database design principles & query language
- Innovating with ideas and products to the organization
Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks:
- Java – 8 and above
- Javascript
- HTML/CSS/Bootstrap
- SQL (Oracle & MySQL)
- React.js
- Node.js
- AWS or other cloud provider – we are migrating to AWS
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
