Company has a unique leadership position for a Software Engineering Supervisor to support a leading financial institution located in the following locations in Texas (TX): San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin and Corpus Christi.

Responsibilities:

  • The Software Engineering Supervisor will supervise the entire development lifecycle for a team of mortgage software engineers with assigned programs and systems, including establishing the underlying architecture of interrelated software applications
  • Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and development standards
  • As a Software Engineering Supervisor, you will collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality
  • Exercise the usual authority of a supervisor by conducting performance appraisals and providing input regarding staffing, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
  • Inspire and motivate team, provide direction, and drive technical competencies into the team
  • Participate in integration related projects for Blend, Black Knight Empower, and Black Knight MSP systems
  • Maintain a sense of urgency to deliver projects with collaborative agility
  • The Software Engineering Supervisor will provide technical oversight and coordinate with support staff for issue resolution
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience with mortgage point of sale (POS), loan originations systems (LOS) and loan servicing systems technologies
  • Demonstrated experience independently identifying issues and designing solutions for the biggest and most complex programs and systems at the bank
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing and directing coding efforts for a group of Software Engineers
  • Experience leading a team
  • Current knowledge of emerging market trends, development methodologies, and development frameworks that improve application security
  • Strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming
  • Experience working with agile development tools (i.e. Jira) and source control tools (i.e. GitHub)
  • Experience with SQL

An exceptional candidate might have:

  • Demonstrated experience with Blend, Black Knight Empower and Black Knight MSP technologies
  • Demonstrated experience with .NET technologies
  • Demonstrated with developing software solutions leveraging lending-based REST APIs
  • Experience with diagramming tools such as MS Visio
  • Experience with software build and deploy tools (i.e., Jenkins)
