A Company client is seeking to hire a Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing in Bellevue, Washington (WA).

Summary:
We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. This is a hands-on position that oversees management of all areas of manufacturing. The Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing will collaborate with R&D to develop, produce, plan, and prepare state of the art technology to go from early-stage development to volume manufacturing. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction and formulates both long and short-range plans, policies, programs, and objectives
  • Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of manufacturing
  • Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing will be managing all aspects of semiconductor operations, including wafer fab, packaging, test, contract negotiations, yield improvement, and new process development
  • Develop plans and procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations, ensuring products conform to established customer and company quality standards
  • Prepare the annual budget for manufacturing and engineering, including capital expenditures and inventory levels
  • Manage overhead, variable, and direct labor costs to meet or exceed annual budgetary and prior year expenses
  • Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing will drive quality performance, efficiencies, and waste reduction through lean manufacturing principles
  • Build and lead a world class team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree or PhD degree preferred
  • 12-15+ years of semiconductor manufacturing process experience, with at least 5+ years in a management position
  • Experience with semiconductor operations such as wafer fab, packaging, test, contract negotiations, yield improvement, and new process development
  • Ability to lead teams of 8 Engineers including Process Engineers and Test Engineers
  • Must have hands on and strategic experience
  • Experience taking tech from idea (immature technology) to volume manufacturing
  • Experience scaling up manufacturing
  • Experience taking immature technology to volume manufacturing
  • Expertise in leading new process development
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
  • Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills
  • Travel to suppliers around 20 to 25%
  • Experience working for a smaller to medium size company would be ideal
  • Experience with foundry negotiation and recent process development experience preferably
  • Experience increasing yield ramp of a new technology is preferred
  • Experience in Fabless semiconductor companies is a plus
