Company has a client in Coppell, TX that is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud Platform.

Summary:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Tools and Technology team, this position will provide architectural strategy surrounding Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Application Modernization, Cloud Workload Migrations, and the implementation of cloud-based platform solutions. This position will work closely with the Enterprise Architecture Team, Infrastructure Teams, Application development teams, and management to provide both strategic and tactical approaches to technology and cloud adoption. A solid understanding of Systems, Networking, Applications, Operating Systems, Databases, Automation, and Active Directory in a large-scale enterprise is required. The Senior DevOps Engineer must have proven experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including CI/CD Pipelines covering code, builds, running automation testing, and code deployment using tools such as Jenkins, Concourse, Bash, and Linux. Pivotal Cloud Foundry Operator experience is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult and provide architectural strategy surrounding Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Application Modernization, Cloud Workload Migrations, and implementing cloud-based platform solutions
  • Administer and Support the Pivotal Cloud Foundry platform; Cisco Cloud Center platform
  • Support various .NET and Java-based applications in and out of containers
  • Collaborate in Agile Team ceremonies
  • Provide technical training and consultation to other members of the IT organization
  • Be on a rotational on-call schedule to resolve production system problems
  • Participate in the automation of deployments in a CI/CD pipeline
  • Investigate and recommend new methods, procedures, tools, and technologies
  • Participate with other IT professionals to evaluate new technologies in the market and recommend a cohesive direction for the IT organization
  • Minimum of a 4-year BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Technology certifications are nice to have
  • 3+ years of Pivotal Cloud Foundry Operator or related experience
  • 2+ years of CI/CD experience, using standard DevOps lifecycle tools such as Jenkins, Sonar, Docker, Git, Selenium, or Nexus
  • 2+ years of cloud platform experience in AWS or Azure preferred
  • Proven systems and networking experience
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong scripting knowledge, preferably BASH
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Elastic, or MS SCOM
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with both business and technical teams
  • Experience with application deployment on a public Cloud provider such as AWS or Azure is preferred
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience is a plus
